Wednesday, January 13 @ 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Noon to 12:50 pm       The Evolution of Social Media

Social media continues to change, but the more change we see, the more the fundamentals of connection and value remain.

Panelists Gloria Bell (https://www.linkedin.com/in/gloriabell/ ), Don Lafferty (https://www.linkedin.com/in/donlafferty/), Mike Maney (https://www.linkedin.com/in/mikemaney/), and Chuck Hall (https://www.linkedin.com/in/chuckhall18901/) will share their perspective on where things are now and where they see them going.

1:00 pm to 1:15 pm      The Human Side of Social

As some people focus on the shiny tech distractions of social media, the most powerful and lasting aspect of social media is human connection. Michelle Kane (https://www.linkedin.com/in/michelledawnkane/) will share her insights and advice she offers to clients on how to connect with their followers as real people.

2:00 pm to 2:15 pm      Community Conversation

This will be interesting. We will have an open discussion among all SoMeBizLife participants. You are the speaker! What would you like to share? Questions you'd like to ask? With dozens of people in our Zoom room, this could get a bit hairy, but let's live out loud and see what we can do.

2:20 pm to 2:35 pm     Hub & Spoke: The Key to Content & Social Success

Veteran marketer and storyteller Ron Wagner (https://www.linkedin.com/in/ronwags/) will share his tried and true approach to blending content marketing with social media to attract, engage and convert clients using his blog and social media.

2:40 pm to 2:55 pm     Content Journalism: What It Is & How Are You Selling It?

Content journalism is an emerging marketing term for something many of us as writers already do — at least sometimes. Every time we speak with sources for background and quotes while wearing our content marketing hats we’re engaging in content journalism. Jennifer Phillips April (https://www.linkedin.com/in/jenphillipsapril/) will facilitate a session to discuss*your* interpretation of the term, the benefit of original content for our clients, and how writers are selling it.

3:00 pm to 3:15 pm     Taking Your Online Interactions to VR

The pandemic has forced us to do more online — Zoom, Teams, Hangouts, Slack, Messenger, Facebook, Linkedin and Twitter. But there has to be more! Using free and affordable technology and platforms, you too can enter the world of VR meetings. Det Ansinn (https://www.linkedin.com/in/detansinn/) will share what is working for him.

3:20 pm to 3:35 pm      Clubhouse: What Is It & Why You Should Want In

A key part of social media is listening and Clubhouse is a great place to do it -- even if you don't want to be a speaker you can learn so much by listening. If you want to share your perspective with many people who you don't know yet (building your network!) this is a place to do it! Chuck Hall (https://www.linkedin.com/in/chuckhall18901/), a new Clubhouse member and by no means a Clubhouse expert, will introduce his perspective on the platform and invite participants to share and ask questions.

3:40 pm to 3:55 pm     Embracing the Next Normal

As we go through a once in a lifetime pandemic, we are experiencing major challenges in our personal and professional lives. As with 9/11, the world has changed as a result of the pandemic. Rather than retreat, there are things we can do digitally for our business to stay relevant. Steve Levine (https://www.linkedin.com/in/stevenlevine1/) will lead us through his research-based insights.
