Jamie Haddon to Present on Social Media for Nonprofits

Jamie Haddon, president and CEO of United Way of Bucks County will present as a panel member at the 2012 SoMeBizLife Conference along with Beth Baker of Deserving Decor and Larry Browne of Doylestown Fire Company. The panel, moderated by Karen Graziano of Villanova University, will explore ways that nonprofits can use social media to more effectively connect with clients, supports and the entire community.

Jamie has made contributions in non-profit management for nearly his entire life.  He recently joined the United Way of Bucks County after a nine year stay at Second Alarmers Rescue Squad (SARS).  A third generation fire/ems provider with over 20 years of experience took over at SARS in 2002 as their first Executive Director when the organization was on the brink of disaster.  Since then as the fulltime career chief executive officer he has streamlined the department by professionally administering the business and technical operations of the largest private non-profit combination emergency medical and rescue service in suburban Philadelphia.  This organization receives no recurring tax funding and requires nearly $5 million a year to exist from its service reimbursement, grants and donations.

Always being the one to set the tone with leadership by example, in addition to his office duties he voluntarily obtained EMT training and field command.  Since then he is a part of all SARS emergency response teams, member of the Swift Water Marine Team, Montgomery County PEMA Strike Team, founding member of the Montgomery County Ambulance Administrators Group, member of the Pennsylvania Emergency Health Services Council (PESHC) and Chair of the statewide EMS Week Public Relations Committee for the Pennsylvania Ambulance Association.

Jamie also served St. Bonaventure University as a Major Gifts Development Officer and Assistant Executive Director of the Bucks County Council, Boy Scouts of America.  Jamie holds graduate and undergraduate management degrees from St. Josephs University and Delaware Valley College.  He is an active EMS/Firefighter with Berwyn Fire Company and as an Eagle Scout participates in his sons Boy Scout Troop at his place of worship Doylestown United Methodist Church.  He is married to Michele and they reside in Doylestown Borough with their Sons Cole and Finnegan and daughter Sydney.

Registration is now open for the 2012 SoMeBizLife Conference to be held May 30 at DelVal College in Doylestown. Register by May 1 for $49, to save $20 off the regular $69 price.
