Getting Started with Social Business

If you’re leader, manager or professional working in a big business and just getting started with social business and social media, then SoMeBizLife is a great place for you to learn a lot in a short period of time! From the moment you arrive at 7:30 a.m. for coffee and breakfast you’ll start meeting others at all different levels of social media expertise in large and small businesses.

Opening Platform: SoMeBizLife — Welcome to the Revolution!

In the opening session, five speakers will help you understand why everyone’s so excited about  social business, how it’s changing the way we all do work and why it’s vital for businesses to have a strong social media presence. The speakers are very smart, successful people. What is really also really great about them is that they are very friendly and will be willing to answer your questions personally during breaks and between sessions!

After the opening general session and before lunch, you’ll get to pick two smaller breakout sessions where experts will give you great ideas and specific things that you can start doing right away to get moving or improve your social media efforts and get more business. You can choose any one of 5 topics in each of the two sessions, but we would recommend that you consider:

Breakout 1: The Enterprise 2.0 Future

Eric Ziegler

Eric Ziegler is an experienced professional who is a key part of creating and implementing Vanguard’s  social business practices. Eric will show how Vanguard is using Social Business platforms to help people more effectively work together within the corporate environment. Cari Sultanik

Cari Sultanik is at the leading edge of using social media for marketing as NutriSystem’s director of Social Media and Community Management. Cari will show how a well-known brand with more than 10,000 Facebook fans and tens of thousands of customers has built its plan for social media. As a trained educator and an MBA, Cari will show how social media platforms can be used to educate, build community and deliver powerful business results. Lunch

The midday break will be wonderful, not just because of the excellent food that will be provided to us by the good folks at DelVal, but also because it will provide you an hour to informally learn from others as you exchange business cards, share ideas and build relationships with speakers and fellow participants that will last well beyond the conference day. After lunch you’ll get the opportunity to attend two more breakout sessions.

Breakout 3: Story Telling 2.0

 

Sharlene Sones

Sharlene Sones is a brand story teller who has worked with well-known businesses such as Bennetton, Spalding, University of Pennsylvania and the LPGA. What do all of these businesses have in common with your business? Story telling. Session 4: How to Manage Your Career Using Social Media

Closing Panel: Social Changes Media, Changes Lives

In the final session of the day, everyone will be back together in the big room. Five social media experts who work as journalists, public relations professionals and writers will share how social media is being used on a local, national and international level to help people connect with each other producing dramatic results that change lives. You and your fellow big business employees are all exposed media as consumers and can be beneficiaries or victims of the media. Learn how social media is affecting traditional media and what it means for you and your company.
