Making Small Business More Social

If you’re in a small business already doing things with social media, SoMeBizLife will offer you direct access to people, ideas and skills to help you move forward and do more! From the moment you arrive at 7:30 a.m. for coffee and breakfast you’ll start meeting others at all different levels of social media expertise.

You know that people in social media are very friendly and love to share ideas with each other. Sharing is what social media is all about, so you will find yourself in the right place to pick up on how to do more!

Opening Platform: SoMeBizLife — Welcome to the Revolution!

In the opening session, five speakers will help you deepen your knowledge about  social media, how it’s changing the way we all do business and why it’s vital for you as a small business person to increase your social media presence. The speakers are very smart, successful people. What is really great about them is that they are also very friendly and will be willing to answer your questions personally during breaks and between sessions!

After the opening general session and before lunch, you’ll get to pick two smaller breakout sessions where experts will give you great ideas and specific things that you can start doing right away to get moving or improve your social media efforts and get more business. You can choose any one of 5 topics in each of the two sessions, but we would recommend that you consider:

Breakout 1: Building Your Social Plan

Cari Sultanik

Cari Sultanik is at the leading edge of using social media for marketing as NutriSystem’s director of Social Media and Community Management. Cari will show how a well-known brand with more than 10,000 Facebook fans and tens of thousands of customers has built its plan for social media. As a trained educator and an MBA, Cari will show how social media platforms can be used to educate, build community and deliver powerful business results. All of this takes planning, which every small business can use as it carefully moves forward with social media. If you are in a small business that is actively using social media and want to do more, this will be a great session for you. Cari navigates the sometime tricky waters between social media and traditional media, and can offer great strategic advice for how you strike a balance between traditional business practices and newer social approaches as you grow your business. Dave Polinchock

Dave Polinchock  is an experienced brand marketer whose knowledge transcends small businesses, large businesses and everything in between. Lunch

The midday break will be wonderful, not just because of the excellent food that will be provided to us by the good folks at DelVal, but also because it will provide you an hour to informally learn from others as you exchange business cards, share ideas and build relationships with speakers and fellow participants that will last well beyond the conference day. After lunch, you’ll get to choose two more breakout sessions.

Breakout 3: Facebooking Your Business

Tom Knoble

Tom Knoble is a whiz with using Facebook for small businesses. It is hard to imagine a small business today that shouldn’t be using Facebook to market to people who live in your community! So what should you be doing with Facebook? What information should be on your page, what should it look like, and how can you use it to get people coming to you for the products and services you need. Alternate Breakout 3: More Better Video in Social Media

Rick Toone

Before moving to Bucks County, Rick Toone worked on more than 50 Superbowl commercials as well as countless projects for film and television. It is hard to imagine a better person to help you learn what you need to know about video. For more information on Rick’s presentations, click here.

Breakout 4: Blogging 2.0 — Going Beyond the Typepad

Harrison Kratz

Harrison Kratz may be the youngest presenter among the SoMeBizLife speakers, but he has already racked up some tremendous successes in the social media world as a college student. Harrison is the owner and founder of KratzPR, a public relations business that specializes in effective use of social media in public relations. Harrison has strong knowledge of how to use blogging in various forms — written word, audio podcasts and video to create rich and meaningful content that engages audiences.
